Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy for London Unlocked, a walking-tour app for iOS published by 22W Studios.
Short version
We don't ask for your name, email, or any account. We don't run ads, third-party analytics, or trackers. Most of your activity in the app — bookmarks, settings, completed tours — is stored only on your device.
What's stored on your device
The app uses your device's local storage to remember:
- Tours you've saved or completed
- Your settings (narrator voice, theme, high-contrast mode, pub and trivia toggles)
- Whether you've seen the welcome screen
This information never leaves your device. Deleting the app removes it.
What's sent to our server
To play premium audio narration, the app sends the text of the current tour stop and your chosen voice ID to our server. Our server forwards the request to ElevenLabs, returns the generated audio, and discards the text. We do not log or retain the request bodies, audio files, or any identifier linking a request to a person or device.
If you select your phone's built-in voice instead, no text is sent to our server.
We make no other network requests for your data.
Location
When you start a tour, the app may ask for your location so it can show your position on the map and highlight the stop nearest you. Your location is used only on your device and is never sent to our server or any third party. You can deny or revoke this permission in iOS Settings without breaking the rest of the app.
Third-party content
The app loads images from Unsplash (images.unsplash.com) and map tiles from OpenStreetMap (tile.openstreetmap.org). Loading these resources transmits your IP address to those services as part of the standard internet request. We don't share any other information with them. Their privacy practices are their own.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes
If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's What's New notes.
