Everything you need to get the most out of Stim.
What is Stim?
Stim is a sensory experience designed for people with ADHD and restless minds. Drag your finger to create colourful trails, feel haptic feedback, and listen to ambient soundscapes that respond to your touch.
How do I use it?
Just touch the screen. Drag to create flowing trails of colour. Tap for ripple bursts. Sound fades in as you interact and fades out when you stop. Open the menu (bottom-right icon) to switch sounds, toggle haptics, or change between dark and light mode.
There's no sound playing
Make sure your device isn't on silent mode — check the physical mute switch on the side of your iPhone. Also check that sound is enabled in the app menu (the music note icon should be highlighted). Sound only plays while you're touching the screen.
Haptics aren't working
Haptic feedback requires a physical device — it won't work on the iOS Simulator. Check that haptics are enabled in the app menu (the vibration icon should be highlighted). Also make sure System Haptics is turned on in your iPhone Settings → Sounds & Haptics.
Can I use it with headphones?
Absolutely — headphones are recommended for the best experience. The ambient soundscapes are designed to feel immersive and calming, especially with over-ear headphones.
What soundscapes are available?
Five: Calming Tones, White Noise, Rain, Thunderstorm, and Dreamscape. You can switch between them in the sound picker that appears when sound is enabled.
Does Stim collect any data?
No. Stim has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no ads. Everything happens on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Is it free?
Yes. Stim is completely free with no in-app purchases.
